Spiritual Direction
Personal on-going Spiritual Direction is offered at the retreat house. The focus of conversation in these meetings is the spiritual life of the directee. The object of such a commitment is the directee's ongoing and deepening relationship with God. Intentional, daily prayer, reflection on the events of one's daily life, as well as a willingness to enter into open dialogue are all necessary components of the process of Spiritual Direction. Please call the Retreat House for more information. Spiritual Direction is provided to individuals who meet with a Spiritual Director for an hour on a regular basis to explore God's presence in their lives. Click here for more information.
Centering Prayer
The Centering Prayer Group meets twice a month at the Retreat House. The evening begins at 7:00 PM for discussion and prayer and concludes at 8:15 PM. The Centering Prayer schedule will be updated bi-monthly on our website.
A.A. and Al-Anon Retreats
Dominican Retreat is a unique place to nourish our relationship with the God of our understanding. Set apart from the routine of our daily lives, the Retreat provides a peaceful surrounding in which to get a fresh perspective on God’s presence in our lives.
The Program consists of presentations given by the retreat directors, Step Meetings, and opportunities for group and private prayer, as well as for one-on-one meetings with the retreat director and staff members, if desired. Dominican Retreat is rooted in the Roman Catholic tradition. Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation are offered during the retreat.
Reservation Acceptance Date for 12 Step Retreats: Due to the popularity of Retreats for Women and Men of AA and Al-Anon, each retreat has a reservation and deposit acceptance date. Reservations cannot be accepted before this date. One reservation per envelope received on designated date will have priority. When the retreat is filled, applicants will be placed on a waiting list. Reservations may be made by mail (check or credit card information included), by telephone, fax, or e-mail (credit card information required). The non-refundable deposit of $50 is non-transferable to another 12 Step retreat but may be transferred to other retreat programs for up to one year.
Deposit and Wait List Policy: Very often we receive more reservation requests than we have space for on a particular retreat. After a retreat is filled, reservations received with a deposit go on a Waiting List. If space becomes available, we will contact you immediately. If you decline the offered space, we do not refund your deposit. If we send you a card indicating you are on the Wait List and you would like your name removed from the Wait List, please call us and we will refund your deposit and remove your name. If you are on the Wait List and we are unable to offer you a space for the retreat, we will refund your deposit. Cancellations by retreatants do not merit a refund of deposit. Deposits are not transferable to other 12 Step retreats but may be transferred to one of our other programs for up to one year.
